The 3M™ cloth belt 777F measures 1/2" x 12" and features a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide, designed to increase durability and cutting efficiency for moderate stock removal to finishing operations. It has a heavyweight cloth backing that supports high-pressure applications, suitable for use on heat-sensitive metals including stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys, and can be applied in both wet or dry conditions. The belt incorporates a grinding aid to reduce running temperatures and the abrasive grain is resin-bonded to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. Recommended for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings, the proprietary ceramic abrasive grain provides enhanced toughness and hardness, while the aluminum oxide blend increases the abrasive’s hardness and longevity. Ceramic abrasives cut fast and withstand intense heat and stress, outperforming traditional aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability, making the belt ideal for moderate stock removal and surface preparation. Available in various widths and lengths, these belts fit most industrial belt sanders, with wider belts used for wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels and metal sheets, medium-width belts for edge sanders to sand flat, narrow surfaces, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders to sand or blend wood pieces.
