The 3M™ cloth belt 777F measures 2-1/2" x 48" and features a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide for enhanced durability and cutting efficiency, suitable for moderate stock removal to finishing operations. It has a heavyweight cloth backing that supports high-pressure applications, works effectively on heat-sensitive metals, and can be used in both wet and dry conditions. The belt protects heat-sensitive alloys like stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys by incorporating a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures, with abrasive grain bonded to the backing using resin to ensure durability under high heat and pressure. Recommended for use on stainless steel or exotic metal alloys, it is ideal for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. The proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness, while the ceramic/aluminum oxide blend surpasses aluminum oxide abrasives in cut rate and durability, making it excellent for moderate stock removal and surface preparation. Available in various widths and lengths, these belts fit most industrial belt sanders, with wider belts suited for wide belt sanders for wood panel dimensioning, metal sheet edge smoothing, or adding grain patterns to stainless steel, medium-width belts for edge sanders sanding flat narrow surfaces such as panel edges, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders used in sanding or blending wood pieces.
