The 3M™ cloth belt 777F measures 1/2" x 12" and features a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide designed for increased durability and cutting efficiency, suitable for moderate stock removal to finishing operations. The heavyweight cloth backing supports high-pressure applications, working well on heat-sensitive metals, and can be used in wet or dry conditions. This belt protects against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys through a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures, while the abrasive is resin-bonded to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. Recommended for use on stainless steel and other exotic metal alloys, it is ideal for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. The proprietary ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness, and the aluminum oxide blend delivers a harder, longer-lasting abrasive capable of handling moderate to heavy stock removal, cutting fast, and enduring intense heat and stress. The ceramic/aluminum oxide blend surpasses traditional aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability, making it excellent for moderate stock removal and surface preparation. These abrasive belts are available in various widths and lengths suitable for sanding wood and metal, with wider belts designed for wide belt sanders used to dimension or finish wood panels, smooth rough cut metal sheet edges, or add grain patterns to stainless steel sheets. Medium-width belts fit edge sanders for sanding flat, narrow surfaces such as panel edges, while narrow belts are used with portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces. The product is certified and compliant with industry standards, and it includes a manufacturer’s limited warranty covering defects in material and workmanship for a specified period under normal use conditions.
