The heavyweight cloth backing supports high-pressure applications and works effectively on heat-sensitive metals in both wet and dry conditions. It includes a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures, protecting heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys. The abrasive is resin-bonded to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. Recommended for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings, this belt uses 3M's proprietary ceramic mineral to enhance toughness and hardness. The ceramic/aluminum oxide blend surpasses traditional aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability, making it ideal for surface preparation and moderate stock removal on wood and metal.
