The 3M™ cloth belt 777F measures 37" x 60" and features a ceramic P150 grit abrasive composed of a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide, providing increased durability and cutting efficiency for moderate stock removal to finishing operations. It has a heavyweight cloth backing that supports high-pressure applications, is suitable for heat-sensitive metals, and can be used in both wet and dry conditions. The belt is designed to protect heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys by including a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures, with the abrasive bonded to the backing using resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. Recommended for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings on stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys, the proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain offers enhanced toughness and hardness, and the addition of aluminum oxide results in a harder, longer-lasting abrasive. This ceramic/aluminum oxide blend surpasses traditional aluminum oxide abrasives in cut rate and durability, making the 777F an excellent choice for moderate stock removal and surface preparation on wood and metal. The belts are available in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, with wider belts suited for wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels, smooth rough-cut edges of metal sheets, or add grain patterns to stainless steel sheets; medium-width belts fit edge sanders for flat, narrow surfaces such as panel edges; and narrow belts are used with portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces.
