The 3M™ cloth belt 777F measures 2" x 48" and features a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide, designed for increased durability and cutting efficiency suitable for moderate stock removal to finishing operations. It has a heavyweight cloth backing that supports high-pressure applications, is effective on heat-sensitive metals, and can be used in both wet and dry conditions. This belt protects against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys with a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures; the abrasive is resin-bonded to the backing to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. It is recommended for use on stainless steel and other exotic metal alloys for tasks including dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. The proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness, with an aluminum oxide blend that improves performance by providing a harder, longer-lasting abrasive suitable for moderate to heavy stock removal. Ceramic/aluminum oxide abrasives surpass aluminum oxide alone in cut-rate and durability, making this belt excellent for stock removal and surface preparation. These abrasive belts come in various widths and lengths for sanding wood and metal, with wider belts used on wide belt sanders for finishing wood panels or smoothing metal sheets, medium-width belts for edge sanders on flat, narrow surfaces, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders used on wood pieces.
