3M™ Cubitron™ II Hookit™ Clean Sanding Film Disc 775L features 3M Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain, offering a revolutionary advancement in abrasive technology. The triangular shaped ceramic mineral is designed to slice through the substrate, resulting in a disc that cuts up to 2X as fast and lasts up to 6X as long as conventional abrasives. These discs are suitable for a broad range of applications focused primarily on stock removal and are effective on various substrates, including metals, composites, gelcoat, and whitewood. The film backing provides greater tear resistance than paper discs, enhancing durability and edge retention. For optimal performance, they should be paired with 3M™ Elite Random Orbital Sanders. 3M offers a comprehensive line of hook-and-loop style 3M™ Hookit™ discs for environments where adhesive backed discs may become contaminated. Hookit™ sanding discs attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately) and can be removed cleanly, allowing for reuse throughout the abrasive life. Sandpaper discs maintain better cutting efficiency when dust isn't loading the surface of the abrasives, aided by the proprietary multi-hole pattern on clean sanding products that evacuates dust more effectively than traditional designs. The open coat construction ensures that abrasive grains are spaced to facilitate dust evacuation and prevent clogging. Additionally, the load-resistant coating enables cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other similar materials.
