The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F measures 1" x 18" and features a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide for increased durability and cutting efficiency, suitable for moderate stock removal to finishing operations. It has a heavyweight cloth backing that supports high-pressure applications, works well on heat-sensitive metals, and can be used in wet or dry conditions. The belt protects against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys, using a grinding aid to reduce running temperatures. The abrasive is resin bonded to the backing to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. This belt is recommended for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings made of stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys. The proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness, and the aluminum oxide blend increases performance by providing a harder, longer-lasting abrasive. Ceramic abrasives are engineered for moderate to heavy stock removal, cutting fast, and handling intense heat and stress, surpassing aluminum oxide abrasives in cut rate and durability. These abrasive belts are available in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, including wide belts for wide belt sanders used to dimension or finish wood panels or smooth metal edges, medium-width belts for edge sanders on flat, narrow surfaces, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces.
