The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F measures 37" x 75" and features a ceramic 36 grit abrasive grain, blending 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain with aluminum oxide to increase durability and cutting efficiency for moderate stock removal to finishing operations. It has a heavyweight cloth backing that supports high-pressure applications, works well on heat-sensitive metals like stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys, and is suitable for both wet and dry applications. The belt includes a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures, protecting against heat-sensitive alloys, and the abrasive is resin-bonded to the backing to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. It is recommended for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings, particularly on exotic metal alloys. The proprietary ceramic abrasive grain is designed to enhance toughness and hardness, with the ceramic/aluminum oxide blend surpassing traditional aluminum oxide abrasives in cut rate and durability, making it ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal and surface preparation. These abrasive belts are available in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, including wide belts for wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels and smooth rough metal edges, medium-width belts for edge sanders to sand flat or narrow surfaces such as panel edges, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders used for sanding or blending wood pieces.
