It is suitable for moderate stock removal to finishing operations, incorporating a heavyweight cloth backing that supports high-pressure applications and performs well on heat-sensitive metals in both wet and dry conditions. The belt protects against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys through a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures, with the abrasive bonded to the backing using resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. Recommended for use on stainless steel and exotic metal alloys for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings, the proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness, and the aluminum oxide blend increases performance, making the abrasive harder and longer-lasting.
