The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F measures 37 inches by 60 inches and features a ceramic 80 grit abrasive made from a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide designed for increased durability and cutting efficiency. It is suitable for moderate stock removal to finishing operations and has a heavyweight cloth backing that supports high-pressure applications while working effectively on heat-sensitive metals. The belt can be used in both wet and dry applications. It protects against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys, incorporating a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures. The abrasive is bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. Recommended for use on stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings, the proprietary ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness. The aluminum oxide blend provides a harder, longer-lasting abrasive that outperforms regular aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability, making it ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal and surface preparation. These abrasive belts come in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, including wide belts for wide belt sanders used to dimension or finish wood panels, smooth rough metal sheet edges, or add grain patterns to stainless steel sheets; medium-width belts for edge sanders sanding flat, narrow surfaces such as panel edges; and narrow belts for portable belt sanders to sand or blend wood pieces.
