The 3M™ cloth belt 777F measures 2" x 72" and features a ceramic 50 grit abrasive blend consisting of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain combined with aluminum oxide for enhanced durability and cutting efficiency. It is designed for moderate stock removal to finishing operations and includes a heavyweight cloth backing that supports high-pressure applications and is suitable for use on heat-sensitive metals in both wet and dry conditions. The belt incorporates a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures, protecting heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys. The abrasive is resin-bonded to the backing to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. Recommended applications include dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings, particularly on stainless steel or exotic metal alloys. The proprietary ceramic mineral enhances the toughness and hardness of the grain, resulting in a harder, longer-lasting abrasive that cuts fast and withstands intense heat and stress. This ceramic/aluminum oxide blend surpasses standard aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability, making the cloth belt 777F an excellent choice for moderate stock removal and surface preparation on wood and metal.
