The Interlake Tear Drop Pallet Rack Beams are essential horizontal components of the pallet rack system designed for load placement. Constructed from a single roll-formed piece of 16 gauge steel with a continuous seam weld at the base, these beams are designed for use with both Interlake Mecalux Tear Drop bolted and welded upright pallet rack frames. Each load level is created by pairing two beams, one mounted at each post of the frame. The beams feature welded end plates that slot into the Tear Drop upright frame and are secured in place using two safety, sprung-loaded locking devices per beam. The piston lock frame-to-beam connection automatically seats and locks to prevent accidental displacement. Designed with dimensions of 2-3/4"W x 1-5/8", these Tear Drop step beams accommodate cross bars and decking and are certified by the Rack Manufacturers Institute, Inc. (RMI). When selecting a load beam, it is essential to determine the desired length by adding a minimum of 10 inches to the total width of two pallets or 14 inches for three pallets, with possible additional spacing required for pallets with excessive load overhang, ensuring that each pair of beams can adequately support the weight of the pallets for each level.
