The Interlake Tear Drop Pallet Rack Beams are essential horizontal elements of a pallet rack system designed to support loads. Constructed from a single roll-formed piece of 16 ga steel, these beams feature welded end plates that slot into the face of the Tear Drop upright frame. Each load level comprises two beams, with one beam positioned at each post of the frame. The beams are secured in place with two safety, sprung-loaded locking devices per beam, and the piston lock frame-to-beam connection ensures automatic seating and locking, providing protection against accidental beam displacement. Designed with dimensions of 2-3/4" W x 1-5/8", these Tear Drop step beams accommodate cross bars and decking, and they are certified by the Rack Manufacturers Institute, Inc. (RMI). When selecting a load beam, it is important to determine the desired length by adding a minimum of 10" to the widths of two pallets or 14" for three, while allowing additional spacing as needed for pallets with excessive load overhang, ensuring that each pair of beams supports the weight of the pallets per level.
