The Interlake Tear Drop Pallet Rack Beams are essential horizontal components of the pallet rack system designed for load placement. Constructed from a single roll-formed piece of 16 gauge steel, these beams feature a continuous seam weld at the base and are available for use with both bolted and welded upright pallet rack frames. Each load level consists of two beams, one attached to each frame post. The beams are equipped with welded end plates that slot into the face of the Tear Drop upright frame, secured by two safety, sprung-loaded locking devices per beam. The piston lock connection between the frame and beams automatically seats and locks to prevent accidental displacement. Each beam measures 2-3/4" W x 1-5/8" H, accommodating cross bars and decking. These beams are certified by the Rack Manufacturers Institute, Inc. (RMI). When selecting a load beam, ensure the desired length is determined by adding a minimum of 10" to two pallet widths or 14" to three pallet widths, taking into account additional spacing for pallets with excessive load overhang, while ensuring that each pair of beams can support the weight of the pallets per level.
