The Interlake Mecalux slotted pallet rack beams serve as the horizontal components of the pallet rack system where loads are positioned. Constructed from a single roll-formed piece of steel featuring a continuous seam weld at the base, each load level is constituted by two beams, with one beam at each post of the frame. These Tear Drop pallet rack beams are compatible with both Interlake Mecalux Tear Drop bolted and welded upright pallet rack frames. The features include 16 gauge roll-formed beams equipped with welded end plates that slot into the face of the Tear Drop upright frame, secured in place with two safety, sprung-loaded locking devices per beam. The piston lock frame-to-beam connection automatically seats and locks, safeguarding against unintended beam displacement. With dimensions of 2-3/4"W x 1-5/8", the Tear Drop step beams can accommodate cross bars and decking. The product is Rack Manufacturers Institute, Inc. (RMI) certified. When selecting a load beam, it is important to determine the desired length by adding a minimum of 10" to the widths of two pallets or 14" for three pallets, with additional spacing for pallets that may have excessive load overhang. Ensure that each pair of beams is capable of supporting the pallets' weight at each level.
