The Interlake Mecalux slotted pallet rack beams serve as the horizontal components of the pallet rack system where loads are positioned, constructed from a single roll-formed piece of steel with a continuous seam weld at the base. Each load level consists of two beams, positioned at each post of the frame, compatible with both Interlake Mecalux Tear Drop bolted and welded upright pallet rack frames. These beams feature 16-gauge roll-formed steel with welded end plates that slot into the face of the Tear Drop upright frame. They are secured in place by two safety, sprung-loaded locking devices per beam, with a piston lock connection that automatically seats and secures the frame-to-beam connection to prevent accidental beam displacement. The dimensions include 2-3/4" width and 1-5/8" height for the Tear Drop step beams, which can accommodate cross bars and decking. These beams are certified by the Rack Manufacturers Institute, Inc. (RMI). When selecting load beams, it is recommended to determine the desired length by adding a minimum of 10 inches to two pallet widths or 14 inches to three pallet widths, and to ensure that each pair of beams can support the weight of the pallets at each level.
