The ALTAIR® 5X gas detector is a sophisticated device capable of measuring up to six gases simultaneously, now featuring an integrated PID sensor for VOC detection. It utilizes MSA XCell® sensor technology to provide rapid response times, enhanced stability, accuracy, longevity, and overall cost efficiency. The detector comes housed in a rugged overmolded polycarbonate shell that ensures exceptional durability, including resistance to 10-ft. (3 m) drops and an IP65 certification. Its field-proven integral pump guarantees consistent gas flow without the drawbacks of external components. The high-performance XCell® sensors are designed for extended life, and the optional motion alert feature notifies others if the user becomes immobile. The PID option enables precise VOC detection with programmable reference factors, while large buttons and a bright display ensure straightforward operation, even with gloves on. An exclusive end-of-sensor warning alerts users when the sensor approaches the end of its service life. Additionally, versatile MSA Link™ software facilitates data transmission to computers, and the device is compatible with the GALAXY® GX2 test system and MSA Link Pro software for effective fleet management. Standard wireless Bluetooth functionality is also included. The ALTAIR® 5X meets several standards, including UL Class 1, Division 1, ABCDFG, CSA C22.2 No. 157 Class I Division 1, Groups ABCD, CE ATEX II 2G, and ANZ Ex ia s I/IIC T6.
