The Altair® 4XR gas detector is designed to be the toughest 4-gas monitor available, featuring a 4-year warranty. It utilizes Xcell® sensors to sense gas two times faster than the industry average, while providing real-time incident awareness through a Bluetooth® wireless connection when paired with the MSA Altair® Connect app. The device supports quick updates of settings via the app and can send event notifications through text messages. It is built to withstand 25 drops from a height of 4 feet (1.2 meters) and can handle an incidental drop of up to 25 feet (7.5 meters) onto concrete. With a dust- and waterproof IP68 rating, it can operate submerged at 2 meters for at least 1 hour. The operating temperature range is between -40°F to +140°F (-40°C to +60°C). The Altair® 4XR includes features for quick compliance checks via a bump LED and on-screen checkmark, as well as reduced gas consumption and time for bumping and calibrating, which can also be scheduled with the MSA Galaxy® GX2 automated test system. Additional safety features include a motion alert option to indicate immobility and a user-activated instant alert for emergencies. The device complies with USA/CSA standards, including Class I, Div. 1, Groups A, B, C, and D, Class II Div. 1 Groups E, F, and G, and Class III, Division 1.
