Air-Care electrostatic filters, EPA registered, feature an 18" x 18" x 1" size with a MERV rating of 8. These filters utilize static electricity to clean the air effectively; a charge is created as air flows through a maze of static-prone fibers, which attract and hold airborne particles until released by washing. The filters are constructed with a silver frame made from a single piece of roll-formed galvanized steel, securely fastened at one corner with a rivet, while the filter media is held in place by fibers that catch on the expanded metal support, ensuring proper airflow. Designed as a permanent solution, these high arrestance, low resistance filters serve as an economical alternative to traditional disposable filters, commonly used in commercial air systems that employ banks of 20 or 40+ 2" thick pleated filters.
