Air-Care electrostatic filters are EPA registered and include a 12"x25"x1" electrostatic air filter with a MERV rating of 8. These filters utilize static electricity, generated by air flowing through a maze of static prone fibers, to effectively clean the air. Airborne particles are attracted and held by the static charge until they can be released through washing. The silver frame is constructed from a single piece of roll-formed galvanized steel, fastened at one corner with a rivet, with the filter material tucked into the frame and held in place by the fibers catching on the expanded metal support and airflow. These high arrestance, low resistance permanent filters present an economical alternative to the disposable filters commonly used in commercial air systems, which often require banks of 20 or more 2" thick pleated filters.
