The cabinets are fire rated for 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 1-hour protection of documents and paper, tested at 1700 degrees Fahrenheit for fire resistance and explosion tested at 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, maintaining the industry standard for fire protection without failure. The impact rating involves a test of dropping the cabinet from 30 feet onto concrete rubble, simulating real conditions of a fire. The cabinets feature a Phoenix labyrinth sealing system with special gaskets for water resistance, preventing damage from fire hose spray or sprinklers. Additionally, digital protection is provided for computer storage devices such as CDs, DVDs, USB drives, and memory sticks/cards.
