The Phoenix 25 cabinets are shallower by six inches than the standard 31-inch deep cabinets, maximizing space efficiency. Each cabinet features a high security key lock located on the top drawer, unlocking all drawers simultaneously, and includes two keys. A lock-bypass mechanism allows certain drawers to remain unlocked. The cabinets are fire rated for 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 hour for documents and paper, tested at 1700 degrees Fahrenheit, and explosion tested at 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, meeting the industry standard for fire protection. They are impact rated, having undergone a test where the cabinet is dropped 30 feet onto concrete rubble and then reheated in a fire, simulating real fire conditions. Water resistance is ensured by the Phoenix labyrinth sealing system and special gaskets that prevent water damage from fire hoses or sprinklers. The cabinets also provide digital protection for computer storage devices such as CDs, DVDs, USB drives, and memory sticks/cards. Drawers feature a rugged three-way suspension system for stability and smooth movement, and each drawer acts as a separate insulated container with an inner steel jacket that keeps insulation concealed, preventing fire from spreading to other drawers if one is accidentally left open.
