The cabinets are fire rated for 350 degrees Fahrenheit for a duration of 1 hour for documents and paper, tested to withstand fire at 1700 degrees Fahrenheit and explosion tested at 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, adhering to the industry standard for fire protection. They are also impact rated, having undergone testing that includes being dropped from a height of 30 feet onto concrete rubble, simulating conditions when a floor gives out. The cabinets feature a Phoenix labyrinth sealing system and special gaskets to prevent water damage caused by fire hose spray or sprinklers. Digital protection is provided for computer storage devices such as CDs, DVDs, USB drives, and memory sticks/cards. An anti-tip safety mechanism ensures that only one drawer can open at a time, while the drawers incorporate a robust three-way suspension system for stability and ease of movement even when fully loaded. Each drawer is designed as a separate insulated container with an inner steel jacket, which locks insulation out of sight, preventing fire from transferring between drawers if one is accidentally left open and also restricting access to a locked drawer if another drawer is open.
