The Ohaus® Mini Vortex Mixer includes four models designed for gentle to high-speed reliable mixing, offering a non-digital model with variable speed control and a digital model that allows for input of specific speed and time for repeatable results. The pulsing model features a unique pulse action that minimizes heat generation while enhancing mixing efficiency and cell disruption, whereas the fixed speed model enables straightforward one-touch high-speed mixing for repetitive tasks. Applications for the mixer encompass re-suspending liquids, mixing reagents, buffers, emulsions, ELISA assays, drug extractions, and sample mixing. It incorporates independent LED displays for speed and time on digital models, as well as an adjustment knob with dial markings for variable speed control on analog models. The operation is facilitated by a detachable 3-wire cord and plug, and the construction includes a cup head and a 3-inch accessory platform compatible with beakers, flasks, and test tubes, which are included with all models, along with a stainless steel microtube holder for 12 tubes specifically in the pulsing models. The design features microprocessor control for maintaining set speed for consistent mixing action in digital models, with 230V models offering a maximum speed of 2500 RPM.
