The Southwire type SJOOW flexible cords are designed for applications as specified by Article 400 and related articles of the National Electrical Code, suitable for wiring portable tools, appliances, equipment, small motors, and associated machinery. These cords meet or exceed the requirements of UL Standard 62, CSA Standard 22.2 No. 49, and MSHA flame resistance for mining applications, while also complying with Federal and Military Specification JC-580B, NEC Article 400, and OSHA standards; they are RoHS compliant as well. The construction features bare flexible stranded Class K copper conductors with heat, moisture, and oil-resistant EPDM rubber insulation, non-wicking polypropylene fillers, and a tissue-paper separator to assist in jacket removal. A heat, moisture, and oil-resistant flexible CPE jacket encases the entire assembly, with sizes ranging from 18 through 10 AWG fully annealed stranded bare copper per ASTM B-174, though some sizes may require a minimum order quantity.
