Southwire Type UF-B cable is designed primarily for use as a feeder to outside post lamps, pumps, and various loads sourced from an existing building's distribution point, adhering to the 2008 National Electrical Code. This cable type is suitable for underground applications, including direct burial, and can also be utilized for interior branch circuit wiring in residential or agricultural settings, maintaining conductor temperatures not exceeding 90°C with ampacity limited to that of 60°C conductors, per National Electrical Code stipulations. UF-B cable can be applied in scenarios permitted for Non-Metallic Cable (NMC) as outlined in Section 334.10(B) of the National Electrical Code, and it has a voltage rating of 600 volts. It meets or exceeds UL Standard 83, UL Standard 493, Federal Specification A-A-59544, and National Electrical Code requirements. The cable is manufactured as a 2 conductor model without a ground wire, featuring annealed (soft) copper conductors, which can be solid or compressed stranded. The phase conductors are insulated with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and jacketed in a gray PVC that is resistant to sunlight, moisture, and fungus, with color coding for identification purposes.
