Galflex® Type RWS (Reduced Wall Steel) flexible metal conduit, measuring 3/8 inches, is designed for various installations including environmental air-handling spaces per NEC® 300.22(C), power and lighting branch circuit conductors, and cables for connecting receptacles, luminaires, and equipment. It also serves as a metal raceway for wires and cables per NEC® Article 348, accommodating motor feeder, branch, and control circuit conductors, as well as remote-control and power-limited circuit conductors including fire alarm system conductors. This conduit is suitable for concealed or exposed installations per NEC® provisions for elevators, hoistways, and escalators, and can function as a grounding conductor for lengths up to 6 feet (20A max) according to 2005 NEC® 250.118(5). Additionally, it is applicable for electric signs and outline lighting per NEC® 600.7, 600.31 and hazardous location Class 1, Div. 2 installations for flexible connectors only per 2005 NEC® 501.10(B)(2) & 501.30(B). The product is UL listed per UL 1 and CSA listed per CSA 22.2 No. 56 for 5/16 and 3/8 trade sizes, meeting Federal Specification WW-C-566C with a NEC type designation of Article 348, Type FMC. Constructed from a galvanized, corrosion-resistant, high-strength steel alloy, the Galflex® Type RWS conduit features a helically formed, continuously interlocked design that withstands impact and crushing forces.
