Galflex® Type RWS (Reduced Wall Steel) Flexible Metal Conduit is designed for a variety of installations, including environmental air-handling spaces per NEC® 300.22(C), power and lighting branch circuit conductors, and connections for receptacles, luminaires, and equipment. It serves as a metal raceway for various wire types as outlined in NEC® (ANSI/NFPA-70) Article 348, including motor feeder, branch, and control circuit conductors, as well as Class 1, Class 2, Class 3 remote-control, signaling, and power-limited circuit conductors. The conduit is suitable for fire alarm system conductors and supports voice, data, communications, and video cables such as CATV and optical fiber, applicable for both concealed and exposed installations. Galflex® Type RWS is also utilized in elevator, hoistway, and escalator installations following NEC® 620.21, and can act as a grounding conductor for lengths up to 6 feet (20A max) per 2005 NEC® 250.118(5). It adheres to requirements for electric signs and outline lighting per NEC® 600.7, 600.31, and 600.32, and is suitable for hazardous locations, Class 1, Div. 2, as per 2005 NEC® 501.10(B)(2) & 501.30(B), with compliance to UL 1, 2, & 3 hour through-penetration firestop systems: C-AJ-1462, C-AJ-1463, C-AJ-1464, W-L-1308, and W-L-1309. The conduit is UL listed as per UL 1 and CSA listed per CSA 22.2 No. 56 for specific trade sizes, meeting federal specification WW-C-566C, and classified under NEC type designation - Article 348, Type FMC (Flexible Metal Conduit). Constructed with a galvanized, corrosion-resistant, high-strength steel alloy, Galflex® Type RWS features a helically formed metal strip that is continuously interlocked, providing resilience against impact and crushing forces.
