Type RWS Reduced Wall Galvanized Steel Flexible Wiring Conduit, 5/16 is designed for a variety of applications including installations in environmental air-handling spaces per NEC® 300.22(C), connecting power and lighting branch circuit conductors and cables to receptacles, luminaires, and equipment, as well as serving as metal raceway for wires and cables according to NEC® (ANSI/NFPA-70) Article 348. It is suitable for motor feeder, branch, and control circuit conductors and cables in Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, and power-limited remote-control and signaling circuits. Additionally, it can be used for fire alarm system conductors, voice, data, communications, and video cables, including CATV and optical fiber cables, in both concealed and exposed installations. The conduit also complies with NEC® provisions for elevators, hoistways, escalators, electric signs, and hazardous locations. The specifications include UL listing per UL 1 for flexible metal conduit, ANSI/UL-1 for sizes ranging from 3/8 to 3, and CSA listing per CSA 22.2 No. 56 for 5/16 and 3/8 trade sizes, ensuring compliance with federal specification WW-C-566C and NEC type designation Article 348. Constructed from a galvanized, corrosion-resistant, high-strength steel alloy, the Galflex® Type RWS features a helically formed metal strip that creates a continuously interlocked flexible metal conduit capable of withstanding impact and crushing forces.
