Type RWS reduced wall galvanized steel flexible wiring conduit, 1-1/4 is suitable for various installations, including environmental air-handling spaces per NEC® 300.22(C), power and lighting branch circuit conductors, and cables for connecting receptacles, luminaires, and equipment. This conduit serves as a metal raceway for wires and cables according to NEC® (ANSI/NFPA-70) Article 348, supporting motor feeder, branch, and control circuit conductors, as well as Class 1, Class 2, Class 3 remote-control, signaling, and power-limited circuit conductors. It is also applicable for fire alarm system conductors, voice, data, communications, and video cables, including CATV and optical fiber cables in both concealed and exposed installations. Additionally, it can be used in elevators, hoistways, and escalators as a grounding conductor for lengths up to 6 feet (20A max) according to the 2005 NEC® 250.118(5), as well as in electric signs and outline lighting per NEC® 600.7, 600.31 (1000 volts or less), and 600.32 (>1000 volts). The conduit is compliant for hazardous locations, Class 1, Div. 2, and is UL listed, standard for safety for flexible metal conduit, ANSI/UL-1, and CSA listed per CSA 22.2 No. 56. It meets federal specification WW-C-566C and is designated as NEC type FMC (Flexible Metal Conduit). Galflex® Type RWS is constructed from galvanized, corrosion-resistant, high-strength steel alloy, with the metal strip helically formed into a continuously interlocked flexible metal conduit capable of withstanding impact and crushing forces.
