The 135° split point of the drill bits is self-centering, which reduces thrust and allows for easier penetration. These bits are manufactured from cobalt high-speed steel and feature a heavy-duty geometry designed for enhanced durability. The left-hand helix configuration is particularly suitable for use in screw machines where the spindle rotation is counter-clockwise, providing superior rigidity for portable drilling tasks. The straw oxide finish minimizes galling, and bits sized above 11/64" include three flats on the shank to ensure tighter chucking and reduce slippage. They are specifically engineered for excellent performance in maintenance applications involving stainless steel, titanium, alloy and carbon steel, cast iron, and hardened steel.
