For projects that require board thickness to be beyond exact, the JET 15" straight knife planer features a powerful 3-horsepower motor with a two-speed gear box, allowing users to adjust the feed rate for a better finished surface. The innovative Precision Air Strut System (PASS) provides consistent upward pressure on the cutterhead, effectively reducing the chance of board snipe. Its robust table is constructed of heavy-duty precision ground cast iron and includes steel folding infeed/outfeed table extensions for convenience. The straight cutterhead is equipped with three high-speed steel knives that lock firmly in place to prevent movement during use. With a dual infeed speed control for 16 feet per minute (FPM) or 20 FPM, it maximizes cut efficiency, while the maximum depth of cut is 1/8", with a cutting height of 6" and a width capacity of 15".
