This heavy-duty planer is designed to deliver exceptional performance and value, featuring a powerful 5HP motor with a 20" planing capacity, making it ideal for demanding work. The 5" dust port allows for easy connection to any dust collector, while the cutterhead, equipped with four high-speed steel knives, operates at 5,000 RPM to produce an impressive 20,000 cuts per minute. For a superior finish, the anti-kickback fingers and pressure bar are strategically positioned near the cutterhead. The construction includes a solid cast iron base, table, and head engineered for production, along with a 2-speed oil bath gearbox that transmits full power to the feed rollers and enables quick changes between speeds of 24 and 31 FPM. The gearbox can be converted to a 4-speed system with the included gear for lower speeds of 16 and 20 FPM. The corrugated infeed and fine groove outfeed rollers guarantee a smooth feed, while the precision-ground and polished cast iron table supported by four steel columns provides ample stability for larger workpieces. Heavy cast iron extension wings ensure a flat, smooth cut. Standard equipment includes a 5" diameter dust port and cast iron extension tables. The fully enclosed base cabinet is equipped with integrated casters for enhanced mobility in the shop.
