The Merit red brass seamless standard pipe nipple measures 5 x 5-1/2 inches and features NPT male threads. It is made from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230, which provides enhanced machinability, greater toughness, and superior corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, as it does not dezincify. This brass material offers excellent resistance to water and heat corrosion and is also resistant to salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils commonly found in water. The brass nipple is primarily used in commercial plumbing and OEM water applications but is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
