The Merit Red Brass Seamless Standard Pipe Nipple measures 1-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches with NPT Male threading and is produced from seamless red brass pipe, specifically Alloy 230. This type of brass nipple is easier to machine, less brittle to work with, and exhibits superior corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, as it will not dezincify. Brass provides good resistance against water and heat and is effective against salt water, acids, and minerals, including those found in peaty soils in water. It is primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, but it also functions well in oil, gas, and steam applications.
