The Merit Red Brass Seamless Standard Pipe Nipple measures 4 inches by 12 inches with NPT male threads and is produced from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230. This red brass material is easier to machine, less brittle, and offers greater resistance to corrosion compared to yellow brass, as it will not dezincify. The brass provides good corrosion resistance to water and heat, and is resistant to attack from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water. It is primarily used in commercial plumbing and OEM applications for water but is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
