The Merit Red Brass Seamless Standard Pipe Nipple measures 4 inches by 4-1/2 inches with NPT male threads. It is manufactured from seamless red brass pipe, known as Alloy 230, which is easier to machine, less brittle, and more corrosion-resistant than yellow brass, notably resistant to dezincification. This brass nipple provides excellent resistance to corrosion from water, heat, salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water. It is primarily designed for commercial plumbing and OEM applications involving water, but is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
