The Merit Red Brass Seamless Standard Pipe Nipple measures 1/4 inch by 5 inches with NPT male threads. It is produced from seamless red brass pipe, Alloy 230, which is easier to machine, less brittle, and more resistant to corrosion than yellow brass, preventing dezincification. This brass nipple offers good resistance to corrosion from water and heat, as well as from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils contained in water. It is primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, but is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
