The Merit red brass seamless standard pipe nipple measures 1/8 inch by 3-1/2 inches with NPT male threads. It is manufactured from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230, which provides superior machinability, reduced brittleness, and enhanced corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, as it does not dezincify. This brass material offers excellent resistance to corrosion from water and heat and is also effective against salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water. The pipe nipple is primarily used for water applications in commercial plumbing and OEM projects but is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
