The Merit red brass seamless standard pipe nipple measures 1-1/2 x 3-1/2 NPT male and is produced from seamless red brass pipe with alloy 230. This type of brass nipple is easier to machine, less brittle to work with, and exhibits far greater resistance to corrosion compared to yellow brass, as it will not dezincify. Brass provides good corrosion resistance against water and heat and is resistant to attacks from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water. It is commonly used in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, and it is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
