Merit Red Brass Seamless Standard Pipe Nipple 1/4 x 6-1/2 NPT Male is made from seamless red brass pipe, alloy 230. Red brass nipples provide superior machinability, reduced brittleness, and enhanced corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, as they will not dezincify. This brass offers good corrosion resistance from water and heat and is resistant to attacks from salt water, acids, and minerals found in peaty soils. The pipe nipple is designed primarily for use in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, but is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
