The Merit Red Brass Seamless Standard Pipe Nipple measures 4 x 7 NPT Male and is made from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230. This type of red brass nipple is engineered to be easier to machine, less brittle, and significantly more resistant to corrosion compared to yellow brass, as it will not dezincify. Brass provides excellent corrosion resistance from water and heat and withstands attacks from saltwater, acids, and minerals, including peaty soils found in water. It is primarily utilized for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, while also being applicable in oil, gas, and steam applications.
