The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F measures 1/4" x 24" and features a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide, designed for increased durability and cutting efficiency suitable for moderate stock removal to finishing operations. It has a heavyweight cloth backing that supports high-pressure applications, works effectively on heat-sensitive metals such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys, and can be used in both wet and dry applications. The belt includes a grinding aid to reduce running temperatures, protecting heat-sensitive alloys, and the abrasive is resin-bonded to the backing for durability under high heat and pressure. Recommended for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings, the proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness, while the ceramic/aluminum oxide blend delivers a harder, longer-lasting abrasive that outperforms aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability. The abrasive belts are available in a variety of widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders; wider belts are used on wide belt sanders for dimensioning or finishing wood panels, smoothing rough metal edges, or adding grain patterns to stainless steel, medium-width belts suit edge sanders for sanding flat, narrow surfaces such as panel edges, and narrow belts are used with portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces.
