The 3M™ cloth belt 777F measures 2" x 60" with 80 grit ceramic abrasive, designed to protect against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys by using a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures. The abrasive is bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. Recommended for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings, especially on stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys, this belt features a proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain, a ceramic mineral engineered to enhance toughness and hardness. The 777F product blends aluminum oxide with the ceramic grain for increased performance, providing a harder, longer-lasting abrasive ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal. Ceramic abrasives are designed to cut fast and handle intense heat and stress applications, with the ceramic/aluminum oxide blend outperforming standard aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability. Available in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, wider belts are suitable for wide belt sanders used to dimension or finish wood panels, smooth metal edges, or add grain patterns to stainless steel, while medium-width belts fit edge sanders for flat, narrow surfaces such as panel edges; narrow belts are compatible with portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces like cabinet doors. The belts come with different flexibilities and splices joining belt ends; the 3M™ cloth belt 777F employs a film splice for added strength during high-pressure grinding applications.
