The 3M™ cloth belt 777F measures 1-1/2" x 60" and features 60 grit ceramic abrasive designed to protect against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys. It includes a grinding aid to reduce running temperatures, with the abrasive bonded to the backing using resin for durability under high heat and pressure. The belt is recommended for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings made from stainless steel and exotic metal alloys. It uses 3M's proprietary ceramic abrasive grain, which enhances toughness and hardness, and blends aluminum oxide with ceramic abrasive grain to create a harder, longer-lasting abrasive ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal. This ceramic/aluminum oxide blend offers higher cut-rate and durability than standard aluminum oxide abrasives, making the belt suitable for surface preparation and fast cutting under intense heat and stress. The belts come in various widths and lengths compatible with most industrial belt sanders, with wider belts suited for wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels and metal sheets, medium-width belts for edge sanders for flat, narrow surfaces, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders used in sanding or blending smaller wood pieces like cabinet doors. The 777F belt features a film splice to provide added strength in high-pressure grinding applications, with options such as L-Flex available for increased flexibility and conformity during finishing and blending tasks.
