The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F measures 6 inches by 48 inches and features 80 grit ceramic abrasive grains bonded to the backing with resin for durability under high heat and pressure. It is designed to protect against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys, utilizing a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures. This belt is recommended for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings made from stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys. The proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness, and the belt incorporates a blend of aluminum oxide with ceramic grain to provide a harder, longer-lasting abrasive suitable for moderate to heavy stock removal. Ceramic abrasives are engineered to cut fast and withstand intense heat and stress, outperforming standard aluminum oxide abrasives in cut rate and durability. The belts come in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, with wider belts used for wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels and smooth metal sheet edges, medium-width belts for edge sanders on flat, narrow surfaces such as panel edges, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders to sand or blend wooden pieces like cabinet doors. The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F features a film splice for added strength during high-pressure grinding applications, and options such as L-Flex splices are available to provide increased flexibility for applications requiring greater conformity or a softer touch for finishing and blending.
