The 3M™ cloth belt 777F measures 1/4" x 24" and features a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide, providing increased durability and cutting efficiency suitable for moderate stock removal to finishing operations. It has a heavyweight cloth backing that supports high-pressure applications, performs well on heat-sensitive metals, and can be used in both wet and dry environments. This belt protects against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys by incorporating a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures, and the abrasive is bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. Recommended for stainless steel and other exotic metal alloys, it is ideal for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. The proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness, and the ceramic/aluminum oxide blend offers a harder, longer-lasting abrasive that outperforms aluminum oxide abrasives in cut rate and durability, making it excellent for moderate stock removal and surface preparation. Available in various widths and lengths, these belts fit most industrial belt sanders, with wider belts used on wide belt sanders for dimensioning or finishing wood panels and smoothing rough metal edges, medium-width belts for edge sanders on flat, narrow surfaces like panel edges, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces.
