The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F measures 1/2" x 24" and features a ceramic 40 grit abrasive composed of a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide, designed for increased durability and cutting efficiency suitable for moderate stock removal to finishing operations. It has a heavyweight cloth backing that supports high-pressure applications and performs well on heat-sensitive metals such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys in both wet and dry conditions. The belt includes a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures to protect heat-sensitive alloys, and the abrasive grain is resin-bonded to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. The proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive enhances the toughness and hardness of the grain, while the ceramic/aluminum oxide blend provides faster cutting and longer-lasting abrasion compared to aluminum oxide alone, making it ideal for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. These abrasive belts come in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, with wider belts suitable for wide belt sanders used on wood panels and metal sheets, medium-width belts for edge sanders sanding flat, narrow surfaces, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders for smaller wood pieces.
