Product Details
The flowmeters are used for flow measurements in laboratory settings, process flows in pilot plants, metering carrier gases in chromatography, and controlling gases in manufacturing processes, as well as indicating flow rates in pumping or flow systems. Constructed from heavy-walled, shock-resistant borosilicate glass, these flowmeters can withstand operating pressures up to 200 p.s.i.g. and maximum temperatures of 121°C (250°F). They feature fused ceramic scales that offer accuracy within ± 2% of full scale, with a repeatability of 0.25%. The uniformly tapered bores are equipped with internal rib guides to stabilize the glass, stainless steel, or Carboloy floats, and flow measurement is determined by reading the center of the float on the universal scale, where the number corresponds to a flow rate for the specific fluid or gas as indicated on the supplied calibration chart. Available in four styles—65mm scale sizes 1-6 and 150mm scale sizes 1-5—millimeter scales correlate the height to which the float rises within the flowmeter to specific flow rates using appropriate calibration data sheets or curves, allowing for versatile use with different fluids under various pressure and temperature conditions. The flowmeters are housed in a black anodized aluminum frame with an exclusive tube-lock design that prevents turning during locking, ensuring stability under pressure or vacuum. A special magnifying window spans the entire length of the scale for easy reading, while rear-mounted tubing connectors facilitate attachment to an instrument for bench stand use. An optional leveling base ensures the flowmeter remains vertical, reducing errors caused by float-tube friction. The mounted flowmeters with PTFE fittings exhibit high chemical resistance and purity, featuring 9.5mm straight glass connectors with PTFE and KEL-F® valves. Specifications include maximum operating pressure.
